11th Sep 2008 : Those of you who have been watching GB basketball trying to qualify for Eurobasket - to play against the top European sides eg Spain and increase their chances of qualifying for 2012 Olympics in London - will have seen Joel Freeland doing well.

They have won their last 2 home games against Bosnia and Czech Republic  pretty convincingly and look good to top the group, especially after Israel lost their second game yesterday. more..

2nd Sep 2008 : The Solent Kestrels would like to say Good Luck to Will Neighbour and Tom Mann who are of out to America in the next few days to attend High Schoool for a year followed by College/University.
Will and Tom have been members of the Solent Kestrels Junior programme for a while -with Tom joining us at a U16 age group and Will the U14 age group - they both have worked very hard this last year to get to where they want to be and I wish them all the best out in the States.

Tom will be travelling to a High School in California were he will join Tom Fox from Manchester.

22nd Jul 2008 : The Solent Kestrels committee have been busy the last few weeks planning a return trip out to New York for 2009!  We are planning to visit the City that never sleeps on the 6th April 2009 for one week (returning Monday 13th April 2009).

At present the trip includes:
- Playing at New Jersey Nets Stadium before a game
- Watching NJ Nets NBA Game at the Meadowlands arena!
- Watching a NY Knicks NBA Game at Madison Square Garden!
- Plenty of Shopping Days in New York
- Touring New York City in Style
- Visiting the Statue of Liberty
- Going up "THE ROC"!
- Visiting the ESPN Zone/NBA Shop

Under 12s win CVL League Trophy at Bracknell

9th May 2008 : The Kestrels Under 12s won a nail biting 15-13 victory against Spelthorne Atoms tonight to bring home the CVL Trophy.The Kestrels opened the scoring with a made free throw from big Ed Launchbury-Clarke and when they went 4-0 up shortly afterwards when Benjy Kirkman was fouled on a lay-up and made the and 1 play, the Spelthorne coach was forced to call an early time-out.

The U16's names will appear here over the next couple of days.

The Solent Area Youth Leagues will be running again next season and this is a chance for you to practice and earn a little money.
