Evangel Christian wins Conference Championship - Chris gets All - Conference

1st Mar 2010 : Chris Evans and Stefan Greer from last years Under 18s played and won the Conference Championship at Evangel Christian High School in Virginia USA and Chris was named to the All- Conference Team.

Chris's Coach said that 'Chris has been outstanding this season' and that he had 'Universities that are very interested in him'

Obviously Chris will weigh up his options before making a decision to either return home or take up any offer to stay out in the States.

Well done Chris and Stef you have done Kestrels Proud !

Kestrels U18 premier team progress to 3rd round of national cup

15th Nov 2009 : Solent Kestrels U18 premier men have been given a walkover by conference team London Spartans after their facility was unfit to play.  Their scheduled 2nd round fixture was due to take place on Sunday 15th November.  

The walkover gives Solent a home 3rd round fixture against either Kingston or Haringey on Sunday 13th December.

U18 premier squad look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season

29th Oct 2009 : Solent Kestrels under 18 premier squad look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season in both cup and league with a home fixture against recently improving Medway Park Crusaders, (5pm tip-off at Quilley on Saturday 31st October).  After early losses to Taunton and Bristol, the Kent outfit have put together back to back wins against Brentwood and a 29 point victory against last years national runners up, Hackney.  Both squads have progressed to the second round of the National cup with comfortable wins over Sevenoaks and Guildford last weekend.  Nevertheless it is the Solent outfit who currently stand top of the Premiership (South) Division.  They are one of only 4 teams in the country with an unbeaten premiership record and Solent will be fiercely defending that record this weekend with a fully fit and available squad from which to choose.

4th May 2009 : "The whole of the U18 premier team and coaches would like to thank all
travelling supporters for making the trip up to RAF Cosford yesterday to
support our effort to become national champions.  We are all really
disappointed not to have done better and bring you home the result that the
club and its loyal supporters so deserved.  However, what was clear to us is
that we have the best supporters of junior basketball in the country with
over 100 fans making the trip.  Thanks you once again - see you at
presentation night.  The U18 Premier Squad."

SOLENT KESTRELS THANK YOU ALL

4th May 2009 : Over 100 supporters drove all the way to Telford last weekend to support the under 18's prem team in the final fours.

The atmosphere they brought with them was electric.

The committee would like to thank you all for attending, it was a fantastic display of support.

The team finished 4th overall and provided the supporters with two nail biting games.

Well done to all the supporters and players, the club are proud of you all.

PARKING AT WOODLANDS

17th Feb 2009 : Dear All

It has been brought to my attention by the Head Teacher & other members of the Senior Leadership Team of Woodlands Community School that Solent Kestrel users are still driving down to the Sports Hall to park, drop off / pick up users.

I have informed them that a request had already been asked for this to stop, so they have requested that I STRONGLY ask you NOT to drive down to the Sports Hall for Health & Safety reasons but to use the car park.

Will and Tom have been members of the Solent Kestrels Junior programme for a while -with Tom joining us at a U16 age group and Will the U14 age group - they both have worked very hard this last year to get to where they want to be and I wish them all the best out in the States.

Tom will be travelling to a High School in California were he will join Tom Fox from Manchester.

Under 12s win CVL League Trophy at Bracknell

9th May 2008 : The Kestrels Under 12s won a nail biting 15-13 victory against Spelthorne Atoms tonight to bring home the CVL Trophy.The Kestrels opened the scoring with a made free throw from big Ed Launchbury-Clarke and when they went 4-0 up shortly afterwards when Benjy Kirkman was fouled on a lay-up and made the and 1 play, the Spelthorne coach was forced to call an early time-out.
