PORTSMOUTH CITY SMUGGLERS v UWIC ARCHERS

Portsmouth host their first home league game on Saturday as the students from UWIC make the journey from Wales. The Smugglers will be looking to continue the early momentum that they created with two comfortable wins on the road against Team Solent and Hackney White Heat.
In their last game the Smugglers secured a comfortable 94-70 point win in South London despite travelling with only 8 players and missing arguably some of their key players. After going in behind in the first quarter the Portsmouth team never looked backed easing into and then extending the lead throughout the rest of the game. The team were led by 28 Andy Aung points. Owen Teesdale recorded his team scoring high of 25 points, including 6 3-pointers. Owen is really starting to establish himself at this level and is proving to be a scoring threat as well as being a reliable ball handler.
Portsmouth will be boosted by the return of Ryan Payne, Craig Dawson and Clayton Milner who missed the last game due to holiday and work commitments. The Smugglers are also hopeful that Matt Guymon will make his debut, presuming that his clearance from the university system in the States comes in time.
Tickets are just £2 for all spectators, available at the Mountbatten Centre reception. 8-16 year olds can also take advantage of the Pirate Pool Party offer. For just £1 extra young Smugglers fans can swim in the new pool before the game and have fun and games on the Pirate themed inflatables. Pool Party starts at 5.30pm with young fans given the chance to meet a player or two beforehand.
