Solent Kestrels are proud to announce the addition of young rising star Ethan Round for the 2025/26 season NBL Division 1 season. The 6’0 guard joins the programme having spent his last two season with Reading Rockets at the U18 and U19 level.

Ethan hails from a line of siblings who all boast experience at the national team level, US college and professional ranks and that is no different for Ethan. He has represented the England Boys U14 and U15 team whilst also featuring for the U16 Great Britain squad in the European Championship.

Last season saw the Northampton native lead his U18 Reading Rockets squad to the final four where they eventually lost out in the final, which including a mammoth 38 point outing in the semi final before pouring in 24 points in the final. Round also made his presence felt in the EABL for JMA where he was the leagues 4th leading scorer, 6th in efficiency, 3rd in 3PT %, 3rd in steals and 10th in assists.

Ethan will look to plug into coach Guymon’s squad providing a youthful balance with the already experienced guard play, as he makes the switch to senior basketball. He posted averages of 19.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.4 apg and 2.6 spg whilst shooting 38.7% from 3. The move will also see Ethan attend Itchen College where he will study and play at the EABL level as a U19.

Coach Matt Guymon weighed on the additional of Ethan, “Ethan has proven himself as one of the elite 2007 born guards that we have had a number of great battles with over the last 2 seasons. He is an excellent jump shooter and his ball screen playmaking ability will be an important addition to our squad. Most importantly Ethan fits our club DNA with a team first mentality and a proven winner at multiple levels. We are really excited to see his growth over the coming season with us.”

Catch the squad in action this Wednesday, 6pm at the Solent Sports Complex, as the pre season gets underway against USA Select. Tickets on sale now; https://www.solentkestrels.co.uk/tickets
