Team basketball prevails as the Kestrels dismantle London Stars on the road in 104-62 win to go 3-0 in the season. 55 points from the bench unit shared the load for the starters and put the game to bed.

A confident performance the previous weekend at home against London Elite set the squad in good stead ahead of the trip back into the capital and they did not disappoint.

An early 8-2 run set the tone, Louis Weaver lacing a triple to rack up four quick points after hitting a free throw just minutes earlier.

The aggression from LaQuarne Sayles maintained that lead, finishing on second chance opportunities and getting to the rim to finish simple buckets.

Dimming the strength of the Stars wasn’t quite that easy however, it wasn’t until a Kailyn Panchal-Bedward (KJ) three found the bottom of the net that the Kestrels’ lead began to build.

Rotation, rotation, rotation was the name of the game for the Kestrels, when a mix of starters and bench players began to find their home out on the floor.

Captain Andre Arissol and Alvin Ben-Uloko got the Kestrels scoring going for the second quarter, only before Koby Rival and Weaver nailed three-point jump shots to extend the lead to 30-21.

Sloppy turnovers and missed field goals didn’t help the London Stars’ bid for a win, allowing Sayles and Arissol to play their offensive game with three point make after three point make,

A convincing close to the half meant the visitors entered the changing rooms with a 49-27 lead.

Despite the 22-point differential, Solent refused to show any signs of complacency and continued to outscore the Stars, 73-42 to end the third quarter.

Starters rested, the young guns given their shot to leave a lasting impact on the box score and they did just that.

Matthew Daines totalled 12 points on 66% shooting and an impressive 80% from behind the arc - all four of the guard’s threes came in the opening four minutes of the fourth quarter.

An incredible 31-20 scoring run through the final quarter topped off another Kestrels win, meaning just them and Oaklands Wolves remain unbeaten in the league.
